Additional Tuition Support Checks at PICC

We are posting this comment that was sent in today:

***************************************************************************************
Attention: All Availing Planholders
If you were able to get your 1st and 2nd check, have the two checks totalled, the sum of which should be the amount of the availment you got last year, IF NOT, call 816-0000 and complain, you can still have your THIRD CHECK.

FYI, PPI is now issuing check starting today till May 31, 2005 at Rm.11 3RD flr., PICC, Roxas Blvd.

We've had a chance to talk this afternoon with some planholders who have gotten their 3rd installment check for "tuition support" . The information is accurate. PPI's fulfillment level seems to be running at 91% of their obligations for SY 2005-2006.

Based on the comments given, the tuition support is only equivalent to last year's payout. In addition, we understand that the Lifetime staff at PICC were requesting that the planholders who got their 3rd installment if they were agreeable to indicating that PPI had already "PAID IN FULL". The planholders we talked to did not agree to the request.

I confirm that there can be a 3rd check if you have not received the equivalent of last year's availment.

I called 816-0000 this AM to check about a third check which they told me last week I could receive. True enough, the CSR rang me back to say that I indeed had one. Of course, it was probably due to the fact I had filed a complaint last May 18 when I got my second check which, when added to the 1st check, came up very much short compared to last year's.

I just came from PICC (it is nearer if you pass the front part of PICC rather than the back side to go to the new room where the Lifetime people are). Got a check for my balance (total of 3 checks now equals last year's availment). Interestingly, my check was dated May 18, the day I went to PICC to get the 2nd check. Either it was already prepared but they chose not to give it to me then, or they must have hurriedly processed the 3rd check after getting my complaint form.

No one bothered to ask me to sign that I am paid in full. Probably because they heard me talking with another planholder about PPI having enough money to pay all its obligations to us. Also, the lady who attended to me saw me already write "Received Under Protest" under my signature.

Let's keep the pressure up on them. It is just irritating that I had to make a total of 4 trips to PICC/Philtrade just to get what is due me (which is still short of what we all should get BASED ON THIS YEAR'S TUITION FEES). Are they trying to wear us down on purpose?

By having the check come in trickles, they essentially want to make people think they are "helping" with paying for the full year.

Imagine the ordinary employee who now has to go on his third day of coming in late or half day to go and get his check? It stinks to the high heaven and then you are to be indebted to them by either giving your CFP and/or say you have been paid in full?

Aye yah! They must really think we are brain dead . . . what sad doggies they are. . .

I went to PICC last Friday, May 21 to reimburse the paid tuition fee and submitted complete documents. They asked me to come back for the check on Tuesday, May 24. Upon my claiming of the check yesterday morning, May 25, I was adviced that all releasing of checks were being suspended. I received a text message as well this morning from the processor that received my docs "Due to unsettled issues with SEC affecting the rehab of PPI, we are holding payment until the issues are resolved, refer to Inquirer and Phil Star today business section for details". This clearly shows how unprofessional and unjust they are. They start to issue tuition assistance checks to others and hold when they want to get back at an unfavorable SEC decision. They told me that the decision to with hold payments was SEC's but today based on the newspaper and the text message, it was a PPI decision. Completely immoral!!!! What can you expect when the people behind it are immoral themselves, much as they continue to run PR campaigns to improve their image. They are filth aside from being filthy rich.
